Don't be afraid of WHITE

Haven't blogged in quiet sometime as the holiday season proved to be quiet the busy one. The design tip I wanted to suggest today though is using the color white! Many people stay away from white as they are concerned it will show dirt, or that a white shade on a lamp may not fit in with their older furniture. Today the design world is using white as a back drop to almost everything. You will see lamps with clean white shades, sofas with white linen, or even white or light wood accessories. We encourage clients to throw in these lighter colors... they give you home a new feel and the clean chic design is beautiful! Many people cannot change their homes to the new look but don't be afraid to throw in light accessories to update a room. Twenty-Two Fifty Interiors has many lamps, accessories, and furniture that are just perfect! Our design team is always willing to help so stop by today for design tips or to browse our incredible showroom!

Twenty-Two Fifty Brings Family into the Equation

Interior design is an expression of ones self. The buildout of Twenty-Two Fifty Interiors has begun and Teena and I have found a way to bring our family’s history into the buildout and structure of the store. We, along with our carpentry crew, lead by Greg, took the drive out the Lolita, Texas, where we came face- to- face with 60 years of the Barker heritage. We drove up to a little house, which for the most part has stood the test of time. Grandma Walter used to live there. As we exited the car, we couldn’t help but look at how much architecture had changed and yet in many ways stayed the same. The beauty of the white country house stands alone on this wonderous piece of property that is inhabited solely by farm animals and nature itself. Upon entering the house, we found my great grandmother's hat still sitting on her dresser as if she had just laid it down yesterday. There is so much beauty in this house. The exterior wood has lost much of the paint, but the structure remains the same, a direct reflection of my great grandmother. She may have lost some of the beautiful paint in her late years, but her structure and heart were still alive. Teena decided the wood would be a outstanding accent to the back walls of Twenty-Two Fifty Interiors. The wood itself will bring history, family and enchantment to our new store. Where there is a will there is a way, and currently the exterior my great grandmother's house is being housed in Wharton, Texas, while it waits to adorn the walls of Twenty-Two Fifty interiors. I write this to remind you all that the greatest home interiors aren't always the latest shiniest, trendiest thing you may see in a magazine. Sometimes, it is the little (or paint stripped) pieces that will forever remind you of the history of your family and that truly make home, or in our case a store, your own.

New Store in Sugar Land Town Center

Sugar Land, Texas is place outside the hussle and bussle of Houston and enthralled with the wondrous beauty of new construction meeting never before touched landscape. The Town Center in Sugar Land is like a walk outside the ordinary... as you walk the streets of Town Center you immerse yourself into a small community of shops, restaurants, corporations, and Sugar Land's beautiful City Hall. With all the beauty our city has to offer Teena and Lauren wondered why Sugar Land was missing a home furnishings store to make the interior of the homes as beautiful as the landscape around them. Teena and Lauren started simply by researching what combined talent and a beautiful array of furniture vendors could bring to Sugar Land Town Center. Their hope is that Twenty-Two Fifty Interiors will bring the beauty of Sugar Land to the indoors and create a space that allows our community to find unique furniture and gifts previously not available in our city. The intent of this blog is to keep our community updated on the latest interior fashions but showing how to keep true to the beauty of tradition. Our homes should be a refuge, a safe and comfortable place for our children and families, but they also show our personalities whether they be lively and bright or down to earth with clean lines... Twenty-Two Fifty Interiors will have something for each personality. I, as well as our staff, invite you to embark on this journey with our new store.
